Betting tips: Arizona Coyotes vs. Winnipeg Jets 11/4

Winnipeg’s best players bring the edge in the Central Division afternoon game.

Coyotes moving in the right direction

It looks like the sun is finally shining on the desert. The Arizona Coyotes have been an organization with some unlocked potential since their 2012 visit to the Conference Final. This is a team that everyone has expected to eventually wreak some havoc in the West. Based on their early season, the Coyotes are finally taking steps towards reaching that goal.

Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz have led the way offensively, and Karel Vejmelka has had an outstanding start between the pipes. Logan Cooley is showing lots of promise with nine points after the first ten games. Missing Jason Zucker to injury has been a setback, but Zucker is expected to return to the lineup in a week or so.

Hellebuyck will improve

The Winnipeg Jets are doing okay with ten points after ten games. That point total would be higher if it wasn’t for sub-par goaltending, something almost unheard of in the Connor Hellebuyck era in Winnipeg. Hellebuyck has a -1.62 goals saved above expected in all situations. That same stat jumps up to +2.34 in 5v5 gameplay, so everything seems to be fine under the surface. Hellebuyck has one of the most consistent track records in the league and will start winning more games for his team.

Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele have nine points apiece to lead the franchise in scoring after ten games. The Jets have also received some secondary scoring down the lineup. Mason Appleton and Cole Perfetti are sitting on seven points together with top defenseman Josh Morrissey. Nikolaj Ehlers is still searching his groove with just four points and a -5 rating in the plus/minus column.

Jets seem good for a small wager

Although Arizona has had a relatively strong start to the season, I still expect Winnipeg’s top players to outplay their opponents. The goalie matchup is also interesting. As good as Vejmelka has been, he doesn’t have hundreds of elite performances spread out over several seasons. Hellebuyck does, which is why the Jets also have the high ground in net.

Anything higher than +104 for the away regulation win would be enough for me here. Unibet is offering +114 which is high enough for some light Saturday afternoon entertainment.

Tip: Winnipeg Jets in regulation @ +114
Units: 3/10

The match will be played on 11/4/2023 at 4 PM EDT.
